LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ It was close for awhile, but Kansas eventually pulled away in the second half to defeat New Mexico State 100-79 last night. The victory gave Kansas a home winning streak to 29 games. Tyshawn Taylor scored a career-best 23 points and Sherron Collins added 15 points and 11 assists for the Jayhawks (6-1). Kansas pulled away after letting New Mexico State (2-3) hang around because of defensive breakdowns and sloppy turnovers. Cole Aldrich shook off early foul trouble to finish with 13 points _ all in the second half _ and 13 rebounds for Kansas. Tyrel Reed had 12 points, hitting consecutive 3-pointers to help Kansas finally put the Aggies away. Jahmar Young scored 17 points and Jonathan Gibson added 16 for New Mexico State, which had 17 turnovers that led to 29 points for Kansas.
