Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the stream only available during certain times?
Due to copyright restrictions, we are only legally permitted to stream content that originates at the station--meaning we can't stream music. Only special programming such as sporting events is available for online broadcast.

Can I listen on both a Windows and Macintosh computer?
Yes! The audio stream will play in media players such as iTunes, Windows Media Player, and Winamp. All three are free and can be downloaded by clicking on the links below. We recommend Winamp for Windows and iTunes for Macintosh Users.
Winamp (Windows)
iTunes (Mac or Windows)
Windows Media Player (Mac or Windows)

Nothing happens when I click the link. What's wrong?
When you click the link, your web browser will download a playlist file. This file should automatically open in your chosen media player. If your player doesn't open, browse to the location where the file was downloaded (usually your desktop, just look through your desktop icons), find the file named "kticfeed.m3u" and right-click it. Select Open With, and choose the media player you want to use.

My player says "Buffering" and never plays
If your player only shows buffering and never plays, it can be an indication that you don't have a fast enough internet connection. While a broadband connection such as cable modem or DSL is preferred, the stream may play on a fast 56k dial-up. If your player buffers but never plays, check to make sure that there are no programs running that are using a significant portion of your connection speed and try again. If you hear nothing after 30 seconds, click stop, wait a couple seconds, and then hit play. All media players handle buffering differently, so the stream may play immediately with Winamp, but it may take several times with Windows Media Player. If you have difficulties, check your internet connection speed, then try downloading and using another media player.

Why is there a delay between the live broadcast and the internet stream?
The audio stream you hear over the internet is a live feed that is being sent through several servers to your computer. Finally, when the stream reaches your computer it is buffered to ensure a steady stream. Without buffering, the audio stream would drop bits and pieces.
